How long have you been taking Pilates classes?
I have been coming to Pilates class since early October.

What brought you to try Pilates?
My husband, Eric, is the reason I started coming to Pilates. He had been going for quite awhile. In addition, the exercise class I had been doing was cancelled for fall, and Pilates worked in to that schedule for me.

What has Pilates helped you achieve?
I can definitely notice a difference in my core and back strength. I am also on a weight loss journey, and Pilates has helped me maintain the weight I lost in summer.

What advice would you give to someone with regard to Pilates classes that you feel would help them maximize their experience?
My advice would be to stick with it. The first couple times I went, I felt frustrated because there was a lot I couldn’t do. Becky is great because she gives you modifications, and gradually, if you stick with it, you can do more and more. Now when I leave Pilates I feel great.

For someone that has never tried or heard of Pilates before, how would you describe what it is to them?
Pilates is an excellent core workout. My coordination is compromised due to a hearing loss issue, so for me jazzercise and Zumba classes are not fun. I wanted a class where I am not having to bounce around and do coordinated movements, but a class where I am building and strengthening muscles. Pilates is a great match for what I was looking for.
